Origins: The Dunlap Heritage
Founded in 1994, the Dunlap Highland Band is Maine's longest-running community pipe band.
The band was originally named the Dunlap Fraternal Highlanders after its founding location: a masonic lodge in Biddeford, Maine.
Maintain Your Instrument
Maintenance of your bagpipe is vitally important. Without it, your instrument will not last long and the sound will not be the best that it can be.
Lack of maintenance is often the reason why many new players find their instrument difficult to play.
Check out the current standard parade repertoire of the Dunlap Highland Band. Each set/tune has a PDF of the sheet music, MP3's of each tune, and there are also drum scores, if available, for bass, tenor, and snare (side) drums.

The Dunlap Highland Band is a teaching band. We teach beginning students how to play the bagpipes, the Scottish drums, parade marching, and other details of pipe & drums culture. We teach at no charge, but you will need to acquire a good quality practice chanter or practice pad & drum sticks to get started.
